COMPUTING

Year 1

Log on and load programs independently.

Understand what algorithms are and how they are implemented as programs on digital devices.

Use technology purposefully by combining text and images.

Use technology safely and know where to go for help if they experience problems online.

Year 2

Log on, save and retrieve work.

Create and debug simple programs.

Use technology purposefully to create, organise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital content.

Keep personal information private and use technology respectfully.

Year 3

Write programs that accomplish specific goals e.g. scratch animation.

Work with variables and various forms in input and output e.g. video camera, audio recording device.

Select and use a range of software to present data and information.

Identify a range of ways to report concerns about content.

Year 4

Design programs that accomplish specific goals e.g. scratch amination

Use sequence, selection and repetition in programs, as well as working with variables and various forms of inputs and outputs e.g. video camera

Use and contribute to online platforms e.g. Wikipedia

Use online services responsibly and know the surrounding dangers.

Year 5

Present data and information by combining a variety of software, including internet services.

Explain how some simple algorithms work and to detect and correct errors in algorithms and programs e.g. Design and make a game.

Understand how computer networks are used to provide multiple services for communication and collaboration e.g. Frog

Identify a range of ways to report concerns about contact.

Year 6

Design and create an app using coding and programming skills.

Collect, analyse, evaluate and present information.

Create advanced algorithms using programming (sequence, selection, repetition and variables).

Recognise acceptable/unacceptable behaviour and to identify ways to report any issues.
